Covering over 6,000 acres, Greystone offers a huge variety of sporting/hunting activities combined with luxurious accommodations and gourmet dining.
The Club offers world class Wingshooting, Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunting, Turkey Hunting, Axis Deer Hunting, Sika, Red Deer, Aoudad, Sheep, Impala, Blackbuck Antelope, and Super Exotics like Kudu and Sable. They are an Orvis rated Wingshooting Facility and your bird hunting trips can include Dove, Quail, Pheasant, Hungarian partridge, Duck, Cover hunts for Chukar and Huns.
The Orvis Company has chosen the Greystone Castle as one of it's elite Wingshooting destinations for 2011, 2014 and 2015.
Upland Bird Hunting
The Club offers hunters the opportunity to choose from several different types of bird hunting from traditional Quail Hunting to mixed bag of Pheasant, Quail, Chukar and Hungarian Partridge Hunting. For groups of 10+ the Club offers driven Pheasant Hunting Shoots.
Dove Hunting and Duck Hunting
Strategically located in the central flyway, Greystone's intensively managed property attracts large numbers of Mourning Dove Hunting in September-October. Duck Hunting season brings numerous species of ducks during the late fall and winter. At times, up to 3,000 ducks roost on the over thirty lakes.
WHITETAIL DEER HUNTING
Years of careful management have resulted in a Whitetail Deer Hunting program to be proud of at Greystone Castle. Intensive genetic suppplementation, keen management, and predator control have resulted in a breeding program that takes place in the wild. Careful management of age and class as wellas a selective culling program have produced Trophy Whitetail Deer any hunter will be proud to hunt. Averages from 2016 and 2017 were over 220"!
TEXAS EXOTIC HUNTS
Texas Exotic Hunts are world class at Greystone Castle. Texas has the largest number of Exotics in the United States with over 30 species roaming the Greystone's vast property. Axis, Fallow, Sika, Red Deer, Aoudad Sheep, Impala and Blackbuck Antelope are just a sample of the variety of Exotic species at Greystone Castle. Super Exotics such as Kudu and Sable can also be found.
They offer year round fully guided hunts conducted from custom blinds or by spot and stalk. Bow hunting is available with advance notice.
Trophy Fees include caping and taxidermy prep. Guide fees, meals and lodging are not included. Trophies are quoted in the field.
TROPHY BASS FISHING
Greystone Castle offers fising for Largemouth Bass, Hybrid Striper, Crappie, and Blue Gill. They manage several lakes to ensure that they are able to grow large, healthy fish. Guided fishing is done from flat bottom boars, their floating dock, or the bank. The bass are carefully measured and weighed to determine if they should be kept or released. They offer equipment for casting, hook and bobber, and fly-fishing.
Their new 80 acre lake has been an exciting project for Trophy Bass Fishing. Berms and spawning beds were built and the lake was stocked with fast growing Florida Bass and Blue Gill.
Two Sporting Clays courses wrap around the Castle offering views from on top of a mesa overlooking the majestic beauty of the ranch as well as water views and open fields. The New York Hill Course offers 10 stations and the Brickyard Course has 13 stations built on the ruins of the historic Thurber Brickyard.
They set targets to challenge shooters of any level. Presentations represent flushing and crossing wild bird shots and other layouts such as rabbits and driven birds.
Greystone Castle hosts NSCA sanctioned Sporting Clays Shooting Tournaments and corporate events.
Sporting Clays are available year round. You can have a self-guided course or upgrade to include a trapper.
